24 Hour Furnace Repair

QUESTION:

San Franciso has had the coldest and foggiest July/August I can remember, sweatshirt weather at the very least. We went to my kid's night softball game in San Mateo [1], wore parkas and huddled under two blankets, and liked to freeze to death, in the middle of July.
We never turn the heat off. The furnace broke early last month (the clever Robertshaw electronic control module died... that's another story) and it was like a morgue in here. My wife wanted to move into a hotel, so I called a 24-hour furnace repair outfit and they replaced it for $315.

ANSWER:

I won't go *that* far. It's not blanket weather until it goes down below freezing (and two may show up at sub-zero). It is piss-poor for August though. Well, to be honest my furnace runs year-round. It's my water-heater too. The heat goes off in late April and I *refuse* to turn it on until at least Oct. 15. Wll I guess my street is rather better (Blackberry Road). Though the misquitoes are getting to look like crows.
