Boom showing in Boiler Room
QUESTION:I just saw "Boiler Room" here in Los Angeles. I loved the movie. Wall
Street for the 00's... but I have one question. Was the boom showing in
almost every shot for other people? My friend and I couldn't believe it!
The boom was practically knocking people in the head. Was this an error on
the theater that showed it, or did other people see this too? -Sarah
ANSWER: I haven't seen "Boiler Room," but 99 times out of 100 when this happens,
it's a theatre screw-up. Go out and complain to an usher that the
framing is wrong. You'll usually get some advance warning of this problem when the studio
logo comes up at the beginning of the film -- check to see if it looks
way too high up on the screen, or (and this is where you start seeing
boom mikes) way too low.
