Carrier Furnace Part

QUESTION:

Gas valves and controls are generic items, you needn't buy a part from Carrier. You can get a Honeywell valve for your application from Grainger for about $75. You can probably find it locally for a little less. The entire assembly including pilot and controller is only
$167.50 in the Grainger catalog. They have a web page, by the way, at www.grainger.com

ANSWER:

Is there a place where I can buy a replacement part for a Carrier Furnace that will tell me exactly how much it cost new? reconditioned?
I have to replace my furnace's natural gas valve because when the electric pilot light comes on, the major "jets" will not light up. Nothng but pilot light trying to ignite the main burners. A service guy came out to check, same thing I could have done and then told me it is the main control valve.
