QUESTION:I am building an outdoor corn boiler to replace a wood boiler.
Does anyone know a source of screw conveyors in the 2" dia range?
This is the only component I can not find.
i have built one with fenderwashers and a 3/8 shaft, but it is not a
permanent solution.
ANSWER: I would suggest searching for a dealer of corn/wood pellet stoves and
see if they sell spare parts. Most of the comercially available stoves
have augers that are probably in the size range you're looking for. If
you're able to make one out of rod and washers, you shouldn't have much
trouble adapting one to your application. A Google search for "corn
stove" and parts gives mixed results with some possible hits too, but
it's a lot of junk to weed through.
