Opinion on Crown Boilers

QUESTION:

Would a Crown 105BTU be enough for a 2000 square foot house with about 150 linear feet of radiator? Is this a good brand?

ANSWER:

Yes, it's a good brand.
Assuming that you are using fairly new baseboard radiation, inside of older cast iron radiation; at 150 linear feet, the output of your radiation is approx 75,000 BTU/hr. This equates to 500 BTU/hr per linear feet of radiation at 170 degree water temp.
Assuming that the 150 linear feet is adequate to heat your house, the Crown boiler is actually bigger than what you need.
Is this a gas fired boiler or an oil fired boiler with a domestic coil for hot water production? If you are using a domestic coil, the larger than needed size of the boiler will be advantageous.
