Electrostatic Furnace Filter
QUESTION:There are now reusable electrostatic filters, for around US$30. Just hose
them down once a month.
ANSWER: I think Home Depot, sells The WEB, a washable
electrostatic filter with a 3-year guarantee, as well as The WEB Plus,
with "Micropest Control" and a 6-year guarantee. They're adjustable to
fit any size slot. I've only had mine for a month, so I can't tell you
from personal experience how long it lasts. But considering we just moved
in, and stirred up a lot of dust while cleaning out the old place, some
of which must surely have come over with us, I've had no problem with my
allergies on this side of the move, so maybe the new filter helped.
