im wondering if maybe thats where the filter might be...id hate to open it up just to find out its not there....thats why i wanted to ask and see if anyone knows first
ANSWER: Your photos indicate that your furnace is a mobile home downflow type. Your first photo shows the corner of the filter retainer (resembles wire fencing) that keeps the filter media in place ON THE INSIDE of the big furnace door. You need to locate the brand name, model number, and serial number of your furnace and then contact a heating company that sells that brand. They will be able to tell you what you need and where it goes.
