Duct woodstove heat into forced air furnace?

QUESTION:

I have a an airtight catalytic woodstove installed in my basement. It heats my entire basement well, but I wanted to take heat off this stove, and pipe it into my forced air furnaces plenum fan. I'm hoping that by putting an inline fan in a duct coming from the stove, (NO I don't mean the stove pipe!) that the furnace's plenum thermo will activate the squirrel cage blower, when it get's hot, and circulate it as my gas furnace does. Has anyone done such an install and could provide insight, pictures, etc? Woodstove is a freestanding model with 3 speed fan (Appalachian 36BW) but isn't a ducted wood furnace type.

ANSWER:

My grandmothers home circa 1870. Had registers in the ceiling or floor for the floor above. The heat was concentrated on the first floor. Registers closed during the day and we opened them at night for warmth in the bedrooms. There were hot water radiators as well but grandma was afraid they would get to hot for us wee ones.
I would go with installing a forced air vents into the wood stove area. That way you would never have to worry about pumping carbon monoxide through the home. Hot air moves easier than cool air. The hassles of the other concept seem to great for the risks involved.
