Oil Furnace Replacement

QUESTION:

I am in need of a new oil furnace for my 2400 sq ft camp in upstate New York. The original installation was a simple Sears down-draft unit, with no real return ducting. The return air simply fed through an air filter mounted on top of the furnace, then distributed the heated air through insulated ductwork in the crawl space. As the furnace is centrally located and the floor plan fairly open, it worked quite well. The 2 foot by 2.5 foot unit simply plugged into an outlet in the furnace room and was gravity fed oil from two 275? gal tanks outside. Two questions:
1. What is a reasonable price for a similar replacement unit? Keep in mind that this house is not used very much in the winter so super high efficiency is not a concern.
2. Is there any reason I cannot install this myself? I know that there is a fair amount of anti DYI sentiment in this group, but I am technically able and this installation appears to quite straight forward.

ANSWER:

Anybody that has a 2400 square foot 'camp' should pay through the nose and I'm the guy you should pay. I'll be glad to install a 90,000 btu furnace for your needs for a mere fraction of what the others would charge you....$25,000 AND with your payment you will receive a free oil fill, AND a one years guarantee, PLUS much more. With your payment, you also receive absolutely free, a free combustion efficiency test, done at your convenience, and we will even throw in at no extra cost to you, a free nozzle replacement with the nozzle of your choice!!! Call me, call now, and call often.... a 2400 square foot camp.....don't look now but my envy is showing. I hope you cut yourself on the sheet metal of your plenum and get bit by the raccoons living in your vent pipe.
