Will pressure test damage furnace gas valve?
QUESTION:I ran my propane tank empty and as part of refilling it the gas
supplier ran a leak test on my system. As I arrived home as he was
putting his tools away. I noticed a pressure guage among them, but did
not think that since the house was locked that he had no way of
shutting off the valves to my dryer, range and furnace to protect them
from the test pressure.
The range and dryer seem to work fine but the furnace only lights
the pilot. This is a unit with a spark igniter. The burners don't
light.
My question is: Could the test pressure (I have no idea how much)
have caused the gas valve to need resetting or have ruined it?
ANSWER: Now I got it. You meant the range and dryer are sparky type.
Well, the furnace, I think he only tested line from the tank to
furnace. maybe he closed the main valve and forgot to turn it back on
after he is done testing? did you check that?
