QUESTION:I'm trying to find the make year of an old oil furnace.
The plate says:
Auburn Foundy, INC.
"Stoker Division"
Auburn, Indiana
Serial No. 01206
Model No. 110
The Auburn Foundry has not been helpful.
ANSWER: It's a geezer, alright. Holes in the combustion chamber. Scabbed over
heat exchanger. Black sooty ducts. Perfume of CO in the air. Yet, the
insurance company finds it "difficult to proceed" without knowing age
of the furnace. Yeah right. I'll find out one way or another.
