But, assuming this is true, it just goes to show what a bored police
department will do with a tip. Wherever you are -- keep your
local police busy with real crimes. No don't go out and commit real
crimes, I mean if you see something like a missing manhole cover,
report it to every police hotline five times
ANSWER: being a resident of indianpolis, i don't think that would work here. with
the it's not my job attitude around here, they would just call DOT
(Department of Transportation) for manhole covers, or this agency for that,
etc., etc.
and now a true story about indy drug cops and anonymous tips
what now seems like along time ago, i got a knock on the door at 1:00 a.m.
it was two IPD (indianapolis police department) detectives which greeted
me with something to the extent of -> "we have been informed that you are
growing marijuana in your basement..."
i ask *who* informed them, and got the response of it was an anonymous
phone in tip to their drug hotline #.
my lawyers did they own investigation, and low and behold, the anonymous
tip happened to be the furnace repair folks, and wouldn't you know it, the
tip came the day after the $1600 check cleared (nine days after service)
according to bank records.
