Furnace Thermostat Repair
QUESTION:Fires up, blower starts, then shuts down after ~30 seconds. What's most likely possible problem..... Furnace Sequencer?
Furnace Thermostat? (Not wall unit - it seems to oprerate OK)
Thermal Sensor feeding data to the Furnace Thermostat?
Dirty Ducts? Can anyone vector me to an on-line site with an illustrated parts
breakdown? Can find no trace of the part number on-line. Any suggestions?
ANSWER: What part number are you looking for? You mean the furnace serial number and
model number? You will hate this, as most do, but the BEST thing for you to do, is to
FORGET trying to fix this yourself.
IF cleaning the flame sensor does not solve the problem, and the unit does
not have a led that flashing a code at you, telling you what is wrong, you
need to call a tech out, as messing with a gas unit is asking for trouble.
Even if you had a LED flashing out a code, its possible that is only part of
the problem.
Try cleaning the flame sensor, if it has one. It will be a silvery rod by
itself that is in the flame front. IF that does not work, you could have a
bad gas valve, or control, and thats best left to someone that can not only
get the right parts, but install them correctly...not saying you cant.
