Gas Furnace Replacement Parts
QUESTION:I have a York Diamond 90 gas fired hot air furnace installed. it suffered
some flood damage a couple of days ago. The water was about 2 feet high and
covered the control unit and the main electric blower located in the bottom
part of the furnace. Is it feasible to go about fixing
it or I just need to get a new one ? How could I find a York dealer in my area? York www site does not seem to
return
any dealers for my area. I also noticed that York advertises a $300 cash
back for it's
spring sale, any idea how take advantage of that ?
ANSWER: It may be too late, but when anything electrical like that gets soaked
then the first thing you should do is disassemble it and wash it with
clear tap water, being sure to get all the scum and silt off. Then
leave it out in pieces to dry, ideally in the sun. Make sure it gets
completely dry within 24 hours, before rust and mildew can set in.
