QUESTION:Years ago I purchased a double boiler made entirely of glass.
The top was a tall straight-sided section. The bottom had sides
that sloped in to nearly touch the top piece. The handles were
glass rod bent back to be wide enough for gripping.
It has since gone the way of all glass and I would love to get
a replacement. Unfortunately, none of the local stores stock the
thing anymore or know who would carry it.
ANSWER: I remember in my youth (a long time ago), my mother had a Pyrex
double-boiler from Corning. Perhaps that is still made. Does whomever
currently owns Pyrex kitchenware have a web page?
