QUESTION:I recently aquired 3 natural gas heating furnaces. The first Johnson # 101 furnace for heating/tempering small items. 2 aduustable gas
jets on the front. The second is a johnson # 70 with input output
70,000 BTU per hour. This furnace is on a pedistal with a natural gas
inlet to a pipe with an electric motor/blower which goes up the
pedistal and branches to both sides of the furnace. There is a door
aprox. 5" by 8" wide. THE QUESTION--- CAN THIS BE OPERATED WITH BOTTLES PROPANE? DO JETS
NEED TO BE CHANGED? last item is a Speedy Melt floor furnace Model B 10 6015 other info
on the id plate is Englevan Danville, Illonois. This furnace has a
sophisticated natural gas valves, pilot light, blower and electrical
system. THE SAME QUESTION AS ABOVE--Can this be converted to propane and what
changes have to be made?
ANSWER: I recently acquired a Mifco heat treat oven, and just yesterday picked
up a Johnson furnace for melting metals.
Tom would you be so kind to tell me what make regulator you used?
It seems to me that the Mifco and the Johnson call for the same setting
water column.
