Honeywell Furnace Gas Valve
QUESTION:In fooling around with my old honeywell thermistat I moved the pointer for what
I think is called the anticipator. How do I set this? Is this something I
need to call an expert for? It is a fairly new Bryant natural gas furnace.
Additionally should the fan speed be set low or high?
ANSWER: Set it on .6 and when winter rolls around if the furnace seems to turn
on and off in short order bump it up to .7. The heat anticpator figures that there will be heat remaining in
the furnace when the gas valve closes. So, it turns the gas valve
off early. And that way the furnace doesn't heat the house (very
much) after the thermstat is satisfied. When I took a heating course, the fellow tells me that the
setting is marked on the gas valve, as to how to set the
anticipator. Set the fan speed depending on what you want to have happen...
