QUESTION:How often do you change your furnace filter? I always thought you change it every 3-6 months. My MIL said we should change it every month.

It depends on a few factors. 1. What type of filter are you using? Filters last anywhere from 1 month to 3 months. 2. How much dust do you notice in your house? If you need to dust everywhere more that once every week or so you may need to change it. 3. Do you have any pets? How many and what kind can increase or decrease the frequency that you change the filter.
We have 4 pets so it does need to be changed more frequently. Thanks for the straigtforward answer. Lots of people had good thoughts on the subject though.
