How To Change Furnace Filter
QUESTION:Do I need to change my furnace filter even when I'm using the a/c?
My lack of knowledge of how the ac unit that is outside manages to cool the air that comes through my vents is likely the cause of my ignorance behind this question. Please explain this to me.
ANSWER: Your heating system and air conditioning system both deliver air to the inside of your home via the same ducting. I would alos assume the air uses the same fan motor to push the air. So, yes, you need to change your filter all year round. One thing to consider when buying a filter is the total size and the thickness. Read the manufacturers advice as to how often to change the filter. Also, consider what you want to trap in the filter and above all, don't skimp on cost, there are many filters to suit any need, from just dust collection to heavy pollutents, so choose widely and but reasonably based on what you want to control.
