Intertherm Furnace Part

QUESTION:

I previously posted about my a/c indoor blower cutting on / off alot and doing it intermitently. I have an intertherm furnace with a/c ready builton nordyne model e2eb-15a and i have contacted nordyne about warranty work. Basically, according to my warranty, i have a 5year parts and 2 years labor warranty on the furnace/indoor blower but i have to pay for parts shipping. No problem here. Here is the problem: I called nordyne to get help last week and they referred me to a distributor who in turn referred me to a contractor. I called the contractor from work, he came out the next day while i was at work, wife was home and he "checked some wires" and left after 20 minutes saying that he couldn't tell what was wrong because the blower was working fine then, the problem is intermitent usually occurring in the evening or early morning , < 7am or so. and i had told him this, anyways, he said he would bill us $65! I asked him before he came out if he did nordyne warranty work and he said yes... I called him after he left (i was still at work) , left v-mail stating that i will not pay this and that he needs to bill nordyne not me... anyways, the thing was still messed up so i called in vain the same place that referred me to him and never got a call back. I called nordyne again, being pissed and complained and they gave me a number of another ditributor who does warranty work in my area for them. I called the distributor, and they referred me to another contractor. I called the contractor and he said he did warranty work for nordyne. He came out the next day (today) couldn't find anything wrong
(intermittent remember) and added 1 lb freon to the outside unit without our knowledge. he stated that this would not fix the problem, btw the unit is 1 year 2 months old! How can it need 1lb of freon? anyways, he lift a bill after speaking with me over the phone (i was at work) for $95 ($80 /hr labor and 15 for the freon), he was at my home for 35 minutes total. so here's my question: i supposedly owe 2 people money for service that i was told under warranty, shouldn't nordyne pay for these service calls since they have a 2 year labor warranty? Who's to say that the contractor that comes out keeps on finding nothing wrong intentionally and i pay for his next vacation at $95 a pop?I called nordyne after all of this and they were very rude and basically said that the only amount they will pay is the cost of the part and the labor to install the part, no payment for diagnosing what is wrong! what a crock!! They were very matter of fact with me and i am guessing they get alot of people in my situation calling them. Should i pay both parties and start over? should i just pay one of them, should i contact the BBB? The nordyne warranty stated that the contractor will be paid according to nordynes pay rate policy, which is nowhere to be found in my documentation, this pay policy was impromptu'd back to me from the tech support person at nordyne....it's sounds to me like they are making things up as they go..... any help, suggestions, prayers would be appreciated..... whew,,,,, that was long!

ANSWER:

Do you have a self contained or A/coil A/C...Sounds like a/coil since it uses the same blower.. Now the real question is the blower relay switch Nordyne or Intertherm...If the fan is the original, I would bet the problem is Intertherms if it is still under warranty..Our dealership sells mostly intertherm a/c just so no one can blame the other..
