QUESTION:We are installing a hot water heating system in a new home.
The contractor has recommended a Teledyne-Laars boiler.
Would appreciate any info you might have on the relative
merits of these boilers as compared to others on the
market.
ANSWER: You don't mention oil or gas. I would assume a gas boiler. We have been
installing Teledyne Laars boilers for about 5 years. The gas boilers are
worry free and work well with an indirect water heater for domestic hot
water. One word of caution, make sure the installing contractor has
installed them before or follows the directions very well. These boilers
along with any low water content boilers are particular about there near
boiler piping. Make sure the boiler is sized properly and not grossly
oversized or you could have problems after the installation. Good luck
with your adventure and enjoy your new Teledyne Laars boiler.
