QUESTION:Anyone else had problems with the electronic ignition (ignitor)
and "flame spreader" on Nordyne's mobilehome Miller furnaces?
Twice these have failed in 4 years. One set barely in
warranty and the second set just after. Poor design
in my opinion- and Nordyne won't to diddly. I'd never
buy another one from them.
ANSWER: Just to be certain, is yours round or flat in shape?
Coleman/Evcon makes a replacement ignitor that is much more durable and
will replace the Nordyne one. Only drawback is Nordyne will not honor
the warranty if an Evcon part is placed in the furnace. If the furnace
is out of warranty, then it makes no difference.
Hopefully by October our web site will have explded parts, descriptions
& installation tips on that model of furnace.
