QUESTION:I need to buy 2 new boilers, approximately 50 BHP each. One boiler will
be used for both comfort hot water and heating hot water for a large
senior care facility. The other will be a back up. I have similar
offers from the 3 manufacturers listed in the subject line. Does anyone
have any opinions as to which would be the best choice?
ANSWER: Depends on what you want. If you know very little about trucks, then you
would take someone who DOES when you go shopping.
Where's your service co. in all this?
Ask about the water hardness requirements of each. CHECK your water
hardness. This is where the heaters will be "living", This is a major
factor in how
long they last.
I'm not familiar with the Miura H/W boiler, however to watch a 300HP 150# Steam boiler come up to a full head of steam in 5 minutes is a real
eye opener! That one requires close attention to keeping 0 grains.
If your looking at others I'd want the coupor-nickel, if I could afford
it.
And by NO means would I deviate from the manufactures pipe size
requirements. When it say's 3" with a "X" H.P. pump, don't under/over
size it unless you can show the math and have a clue.
Well, sorry I don't have a opinion on which would be the best
choice
