QUESTION:I installed an air conditioner and it is wired red and white for heat
green and yellow for the A/C. The contactor is yellow and common.
The problem I have is on COOL the fan motor delay should bypass and it
does not. A 60 sec. delay. I also find the fan does not go into high
speed.
In the furnace instructions, it states to hook the red "low speed"
lead to the cont. on the circuit board. This did make it work as stated
it starts out on low speed then switches to high speed. NOW THE PROBLEM!
When the unit was shut off awhile the blower come on and would not
shut off. I completely unhooked thermostat and it still ran.I
disconnected the red wire and it then shut down. I reconnected the red
and it would then run. Has anyone run into this problem? This is a
Tempstar 98% furnace that is 2 years old. I never ran into something
like this before. I am thinking the module may have a bad IC. I hear the
relay so I don't think that is it.
Also if nobody can help, does Tempstar have a site or an 800 no.?
Please email direct if possible. This news server does not work the best

ANSWER: Cont on the controll is exactly that continuse fan ,the thermostat dose not
control it .If you look their is a heat terminal and a cool term. The factory
connections are red to heat and black to cool,no wire to cont.If cont. is
connected their must not be any wires connected to heat or cool (will damage
motor)As I recall to bypass the time delay connect y from the stat to the red
wire to the outdoor unit, don't connect it to the control board,on a call for
cooling the furnace control only sees fan on from the stat.
