QUESTION:I've got a Trane furnace and my filter is located in my ceiling. I've
recently moved into this house and want to change the filter. I have no
idea how long this filter has been here and doesn't look like the
previous owner did much to the house. Right now it is the kind that you
clean. I would like a pleated filter that removes more from the air.
But the filter that is now is an odd size. 29 7/8" X 18 3/16" by my
measure. I can't find a pleated filter that size. Just those see
through disposible kind. What kind of options am I looking at? I've
seen those custom-made filter web sites, but I would rather not rely on
a company I've never heard of that might be gone next year.
ANSWER: Hello Aaron.Check in your town to see if there is a filter shop.You can tell
them your filter size and they can make you some disposable pleated filters of
that size.Otherwise you could have a filter grille installled that uese a more
popular size.
