Where is a furnace filter located on a Weatherking furnace?

QUESTION:

Where is a furnace filter located on a Weatherking furnace?
I have a furnace which is secured to the underside of my kitchen floor in my crawl space. I want to change the filter out before winter comes. I've looked I have no idea where the filter is for this furnace! I'm told it must be under a panel somewhere.

ANSWER:

Your furnace is comprised of two ducting systems a supply side and a cold air return side. The supply side is where the hot air is distributed to the registers in the floor. The cold air side is where cold air is ducted back to the furnace to be heated. Your filter is located on the cold air side to filter out dust etc to keep the furnace clean and stop dust from being burned and causing smells etc. So look on the cold air side of the furnace. Usually it is a thin piece of metal that covers the filter opening. Pull this off and the filter should be there. Pull the filter out and insert new filter. Your filter is sized for that particular furnace. Go to a place that sells furnaces and ask them to show you where to look for the filter compartment. Changing the filter is very simple to do.
